Dorothy Stratton

Dorothy Stratton, age 88, of Plant City, Florida passed away at her home on Saturday, July 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born in Williamsville, Illinois, and graduated from Carlinville High School in 1952. She met her husband Del while in high school and they married in 1953.

Dorothy worked as a secretary until they moved to Plant City, Florida in 1971, where she obtained a job with the Hillsborough County School System. For 21 years she touched the lives of many young students.

She is preceded in death by five of her brothers: Herbert David, Benjamin, Jerold, Richard, and Harold. She is survived by one brother, Bill Burnett, and her loving and devoted husband of 69 years, Delmar Stratton. Two sons, Ronald (Joyce), and Daniel, and one daughter Rita Bell (Chris); eight grandchildren: Jessica, Joshua, Danae, Kaleb, Paige Stratton, Ethan, Megan, and Kailey Locke. Two step-grandchildren, Robert and Brent Allison of Lakeland, Florida. Five step-great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild, along with multiple nieces and nephews.

Flowers can be sent to Wells Memorial Funeral Home or memorial donations made in Dorothy's name to Moffitt Cancer Center of Tampa.
