Baseball, hotdogs, dry wit...oh how I miss sharing those with you. We travelled the country in your quest for baseballs from MLB ballparks and discovered so much along the way--canyons, waterfalls, beaches, historical homes, food, and long road trips. Life will never be the same without you! You were the most kind, loyal, and romantic person I have ever known, and I am a better person for having known you. Good night...I love you.

Randall Mateling Like my brother Don I had truly just got to know Doug. He supported my art like no one else ever did. He believed in me and in his way he encouraged us all to live like we are dying by his resilient life style. He had an amazing bucket list and almost did it all with his EXTRA year of life with us. . We are blessed to have attended the last Spring Training game of 2014 with Douglas and the fellowship that went along with it.. I know he is now without pain at last and in a far better place than we are. It remains difficult none the less as we go on here without him. I miss my brothers. I truly look forward to our reunion one day on the other side. God bless Marcia and Sue and our families. Family-simply the best this world has to offer...

Grandpa Doug constantly made me chuckle with his sarcastic humor and his teasing ways. I will always remember the hilarious jokes that he made about me and boys and other teenage things. He was a great man who will not be forgotten. We love you with all of our hearts and souls.

To the family of Doug,
How sorry I am to read of the passing of Doug. His quick wit and upbeat attitude always made for one's day a happy one. I met Doug when I worked at the County Attorney's office and he was so well liked by all of us. Always brightened everyone's day. Keep happy memories at a special place in your hearts. Rest in eternal peace, Doug.
