Edna Catherine Barton
September 8, 1921 – March 31, 2014
BARTON, Edna Catherine, age 92, passed away on March 31, 2014. Born in Plant City, Florida and was a lifelong resident of the area. For many years she was a volunteer at Plant City Health Care and at First United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Barton. Survivors include her daughter, Julia Russell of Saint Augustine, a sister, Grace Yancey, and a brother Robert Tickel both of Plant City. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Plant City, on April 6, 2014 4:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Florida United Methodist Children’s Home, PO Box 6299, Deltona, FL. 32728.

To My Dear Precious Sister In Christ and My Dear Best Friend Mrs.Edna Catherine Tickel Barton,you made Heaven shine when you entered it.It was such an Honor to know you and have you as a best friend for 15 years.We had a Wonderful Funeral and Celebration of your life on Sunday April 6,2014 at our Wonderful Church and I know you are know up with our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ,being the main thing and your Sisters,and Brother,who were also my best friends Mrs. Mary Tickel Shuman, Mrs.Maybel Hires,Mr. Amos Perry Tickel,and your Very Precious Parents Mr. and Mrs John and Sarah Tickel,and all of your other Family,Friends,and Loved Ones.We will all see you again Mrs. Edna.It's actually Beautiful in a way that you passed away and went to be in Heaven in the same place in which you would come and visit people in the nursing home and do what you did so very best, going and seeing the patients and cheering them up and most of all praying for their speedy recovery.When you were at the Plant City Baptist Towers,you lived on the 6th Floor for about 9 Years, and all the time and every time that you had to walk up to your room or back down,you would not go up the Elevator,but walk up the 6 flights of stairs all the way until you was 90 Wonderful Years Old.What an Inspiration and what an Inspiration you will always be to us all and what a Legacy that you leave behind and it will always be with us all.
