Glenn Givens

Glenn Edward Givens, 85 of Dover, Florida went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 8, 2024, surrounded by much love with his family and friends. Born on March 15, 1939, in Dover, Florida, he was the son of the late Edward Otis Givens and Arlease Givens.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Givens; daughter Glynis Givens Crowe and her husband Keith; son Glenn Edward Givens II and his wife Cindy; grandchildren Glenn “Trey” Edward Givens III, Chase Givens, Bryce Givens and Cameron Crowe. He was preceded in death by his siblings Charles Givens, Maryann Shelley, and Fredna Hunter.

Glenn was married to the love of his life and best friend, Joyce, for 60 beautiful years. Their marriage was an example of true love, commitment and strong faith in the Lord to all that knew him. Glenn retired from the Local 67 Union Asbestos Workers after 38 years. “Buck” as he was commonly called by his friends, was blessed with a God given physical and mental strength that was talked about by many.

Glenn was a faithful man of God who loved and cherished his family fiercely and was known for his servant’s heart. His resilience and unwavering faith were sources of inspiration to those around him. Those who had the pleasure of being his friend, knew he was a friend for life. His passion for hunting and fishing led him to many memories with those friends and family. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Dover, 3223 Gallagher Rd. Dover, Florida 33527 from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
