Jim was a dear friend, a great dentist whose slow Southern draw and quiet sneaky smile made you think gentleman first and then Redneck. Jim and I have been good friends for 50 years. we met the first hour of dental school and for the next 4 years we were inseparable. We pulled each other through 4 tough years.
Tough years cause dental school was extremely physically and mentally challenging. While getting in and out of Baltimore in the 1960's (riots, fires, looting, etc.)was a life threating experience. Jim came to Maryland in an old beat up Chevy with a wife and baby and real desire to be a dentist. During the next 4 years he worked most nights and week-ends to support his family. Had his Chevy stolen 4 times, had 2 more babies and proudly earned a dental degree. I have often wondered how big his family would have been if he had not had to work nights and week-ends.
Jim came to Maryland a Florida Gator and after 4 years he left town still a Gator never embracing the idea of being a Maryland Terp. I say this because never did I ever think he would hook up with a Seminole, especially one that was a preacher's daughter. However, hanging with a Seminole proved to be the happiest years of his life. Thank you Beverly for making my good friend feel very special.
To his lovely and cherished family, many dear friends and the wonderful ladies of his office we have known an extraordinary man. May he rest in peace.

Beverly and Family. Words are so inadequate at such a time, but please know you are in our prayers. Trust you will lean into the loving embrace of our dear Savior and allow Him to comfort you as only He can. Pray that you take comfort knowing that your precious husband and dad has finally received his eternal reward and has heard the words "Well done!!...Enter into the joy of your Lord"....Words that I'm sure Jim had looked forward to most of his life, and for which he had served so faithfully..... we will continue to lift you all up in the weeks and months to come, as we all await that glorious and joyful reunion day...........prayerfully, Autry and Colette Moore

Beverly and family, my heart aches at your pain at this time. I have always treasured the time I had the privilege to be in Sunday School when you two lead the adult singles at FBC. Love and prayers for your comfort.
