James W. Stokes, 90, of Plant City, Florida passed away on April 28, 2016. James was born in Brantley, Alabama to Jerry and Nina (Smith) Stokes. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and retired from Tampa Electric after working there for more than 40 years.
James is preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Lillie M. Stokes; and his second wife of 20 years, Loeta Stokes. Family who he leaves behind are sons, James Stokes and Jerry Stokes (Paula); brothers, William P. Stokes and Matthew Stokes; sisters, Ohni Williams and Telatha Howard; four grandchildren: Daniel, Michael, Jared, and Bailie; and four great grandchildren: Matthew, Abby, Emma, and Lilly.
