MSG Jimmie Vanoy Purcell Jr.

Jimmie V. Purcell Jr., 53, of Bartow, FL passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident Friday, February 1, 2019. Jimmie is survived by his loving wife Andrea; sons Joshua and Adam; mother Nancy; sisters Jody, Kathy, Patti, Vanan and Connie; brothers Bill and Louis. He is preceded in death by his fathers Jimmie V. Purcell Sr. and James Murphy. Jimmie graduated from Bartow High School in 1983. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 from The University of Maryland. He was currently working on his Master’s degree. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army Special Forces Green Berets, retiring after 22 years. In his retirement, he founded the MacDill chapter of the Special Forces Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. He loved cooking foods from all over the world and riding his Harley. He considered his friends family and his family friends. Services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11AM at Veterans Memorial Park – 3602 N US Highway 301, Tampa, FL 33619. After the service, a celebration of life will take place at AMVETS Post 44 - 5521 FL-60, Plant City, FL 33567. In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to help the family at SFBMCMacDill.com
