Lois Elaine Reaume was one of four children born to Clyde and Frances Foster. Lois was born December 5, 1936 in Lakeview, Michigan. She was baptized in 1948 and made her public profession of faith in Confirmation in 1949 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stanton, Michigan. Lois attended the local public schools and graduated from Stanton High School, and then went on to Ferris Institute in Big Rapids, Michigan. At Ferris, she studied secretarial science.
It was as a sophomore at Stanton High School that Lois met the young man who would become her beloved husband, Ernie. The high school sweethearts were married June 25, 1955 in Turk Lake, Michigan. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Dirk, Michelle and Jeff. For the most part, Lois was a homemaker and a stay at home mom raising her children. She did however work while in Michigan as a secretary at Central Michigan University and Brinks Armored Services. After their relocation to Florida, Lois worked for a drapery shop and then as a teacher aide for special needs students.
The young Reaume family relocated to Florida in 1967 and settled in Seffner. In 1982, Ernie and Lois moved to North Carolina, and in 1997, to Georgia, where they served the Lord and their community in many and different ways, but most especially through missions and outreach. Ernie and Lois returned to Plant City and Hope Lutheran where she once again became active in the missions and outreach ministry of Hope.
Lois was a baptized child of God and was called to her heavenly home on June 7, 2016.
Lois will be sorely missed by her loving husband, Ernie; children: Dirk (Brenda) Reaume, Michele (Mike) Hill, Jeff (Alison) Reaume; grandchildren: Ted, Hannah, Jeffrey and Rena Reaume, Neo and Nova Hill; five great grandchildren; siblings: Jim (Darlene) Foster, Keith (Sue) Foster, Jane (Dick) Christiansen; many nieces and nephews; and all of her many friends, brothers and sisters in Christ at Hope.
A Memorial Service will be Friday, June 10, 2016, 6:30pm at Hope Lutheran Church in Plant City, Florida. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make donations in her honor to the following charities: Eagles Ranch Children’s Home, 5500 Union Church Rd, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 or Hope Lutheran Church Missions and Outreach Team, 2001 Park Rd, Plant City, FL 33563.
