Lorene Mary Vaverek (Rossman) passed into God’s loving arms on October 28, 2025. She found peace in knowing that her life had been filled with blessings - the devotion of her family, the friendship of many, and the sustaining strength of her faith.
Mrs. Vaverek was a native of Lake Orion, Michigan, and a proud graduate of Lake Orion High School and the Mercy School of Nursing in Detroit. She began her nursing career at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, where she served as a charge nurse in the OB/GYN department and cared for countless mothers and newborns with dedication and grace.
After leaving Michigan, the Vaverek family lived for several years in Ingram, Texas, before settling in Lakeland, Florida, which became their beloved home for nearly five decades. In Lakeland, Mrs. Vaverek was a devoted parishioner at Resurrection Catholic Church. Her involvement with the Resurrection Council of Catholic Women was especially meaningful, reflecting both her deep faith and desire to serve others.

She was the proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren: Patrick Grace (Beth), Madeleine Grace, Marie McGregor (James), Caitlin Downs (Ethan), Jenna Vaverek, Logan Vaverek (Melissa), Kylie Severs (Addie), Benjamin Israel, Matthew Israel, Max Shisler (Jenna), Juliette Angel (Valerie), Nicole Engelbart (Brett), Sarah Wallace (Matthew), Kayce Poore (Wes), Billy Faucett, Adam Faucett, Caroline Vaverek, Emily Moss (Brandon), and Connor Vaverek and great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren: Julia Grace, Hazel Vaverek, Weston Shisler, Ellie Peldo, Mia Wallace, Ava Wallace, Ruby Wallace, Jonah Poore, Bennett Poore, and Evan Poore. Beyond her immediate family, she was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
