Loris was a dear missionary colleague when we both worked in Belize, Central America. He and his wife, Joyce, often stayed with me when they would come to Belize City for meetings and business. In turn, I would stay with them when I ministered in Dangriga or the Mayan Villages.

When Loris came to Belize City, he would often go to his meetings or do his business, buy a Miami Herald, and arrive at our house in the early evening. He would read his paper while the evening meal was prepared. Once the meal was over, we would get out the chess board and play until near midnight. We ended up playing more than 1,700 games and the last night ended in a tie as far as wins and losses.

He was a true missionary and he left a powerful influence on many in Belize and especially in the Mayan villages in the southern part of the country.

He is now safe at home with the Lord and will not suffer any trials again!

He was so much more than most people knew. He was not only my daddy, he was a dear friend. I told him that he was one of the most intelligent people that I’d ever met but that his wisdom far outweighed his intelligence. I promised him that I would be ok and by the grace of God I will be however I will never be the same. Until heaven daddy.....

I just wanted to say that Mr Johnson was a big part of my Grand Children, Jocelyn and Jeston’s life ! He was a wonderful Great Grandfather to them! I always told them how fortunate they were to be able to know and love their Great Grandparents! His granddaughter Jennifer, their mother and my daughter in law was very eager that they have a good relationship ! Never heard anything but wonderful storys about him and Joyce! I know he will be sorely missed , but he made his mark on earth and God is there telling him that he had done a good job! Well done! Bud Cox

I miss you so much Daddy. I know it is selfish of me to wish you were still here with us, but I do. I will work on that.
Meanwhile I have happy thoughts of you and Mama enjoying paradise together hand in hand.
Give all the family my love and tell Mama how much I still miss her too.
Until I get there I will hold you all in my heart.
