Mark David Ellis, of Lakeland Florida passed away on February 13, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland. Mark was born in Benham, Kentucky on July 2, 1962, to Mary Lee Gilvin and James Melvin Ellis.
After Mark graduated from Russell High School in 1980, he served in the Army and the National Guard. Mark then followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the membership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
Mark was a 32-year member of the IBEW Local Union 915, Tampa Florida where he served on numerous committees, such as the JATC Committee and served on the Executive Board from 2008 until his passing.
Mark exemplified the highest standard of an IBEW member and was the truest example of the word Brotherhood in the IBEW. Mark’s passion was riding the countryside on his motorcycle and shared his love of riding through his smile to all that would listen. He was a friend to many and his lost and his life will always live in the hearts of all the knew and loved him. He was honored for his veteran status from the Good Shepard Hospice where he was treated with dignity and honor.
He is predeceased by his parents Mary and James Ellis as well as his brother Steve. He is survived by his friends he called family.
A Celebration of Life will held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 12 – 3 pm at the IBEW Local Union 915 Hall at 5621 Harney Road, Tampa Florida.
