Marshal Lester Chancy, age 84, of Plant City passed away on Dec. 23, 2012 at home. He was a lifelong resident of Plant City, being born in Plant City on Feb. 22, 1928 to Jasper and Adele (Morrow) Chancy. Mr. Chancy was a longtime teacher at Springhead Elementary, and recently owned and operated the Chancy's Catfish Shack Restaurant.
He is survived by one granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Spicer (Phillip), one brother, Arlin Chancy, a friend and caregiver, Melinda Cothron, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Evelyn Chancy,and two sons, Wayne and Jay.
Funeral Services for Lester will be on Friday 11:00 AM Dec. 28, 2012 at Wells Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 PM at Wells. Burial will take place at Mt. Enon.
