Melinda Rada Pick

Born in Daet, Camarines Norte, Philippines, Melinda became a resident of Plant City in 1984, which she considered home. She lived a life filled with creativity, kindness, and joy. Whether tending to a flourishing garden (sometimes in the middle of the night to avoid the heat!), sitting at a drawing table or sewing machine creating something beautiful with skilled hands, playing a game of chess (of which she was a champion!), or dancing and singing along to favorite rock and roll tunes, Melinda embraced life's simple pleasures with enthusiasm and heart. She freely shared anything she had with everyone around her. Melinda worked decades as a server at local restaurants and earned a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate license in a brief but successful Real Estate career.

Above all, Melinda will be remembered for a generous spirit, a bright smile, and a loving heart. Family and friends were the center of her world, and her legacy lives on in the memories shared, the lessons taught, and the people she loved dearly.

Melinda is preceded in death by her parents, Filipe and Estelita Rada, and her brothers Freddy (Delia), Nestor (Beth), Totoy, Rogelio, and Jose. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband of nearly 50 years Robert Pick, daughters Cicily, Mitzi (Lenny), and Hallie, grandsons Giorgio, and Jackson (Hope), great-grandson Kalani, brothers Gani (Grace), Bibing, and Junie, and her baby sister Yvette (Roger); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Melinda always instilled in her daughters a deep appreciation for the value of education and lifelong learning. She believed that learning opened doors and encouraged her daughters to embrace every opportunity to grow, explore, and discover the world around them.
