

Nancy (Cappello) Wernicki, 72 of Plant City, FL passed away peacefully with her children and grandchildren by her side on January 9, 2025. She was born June 18, 1952 in Kane, PA to the late John and Josephine Cappello. She was a 1970 graduate of Kane High School. Nancy attended Erie Business Center and was employed in various office positions over the years. While in Erie, she met her beloved husband, Michael Wernicki.
Nancy is survived by her children, Mark Wernicki, Tina (Anthony) Capparelli, and Julie Wernicki; grandchildren, Dominic Capparelli and Gianna Capparelli; siblings, Judy (Bill) Grolemund, Jack (Bobbie) Cappello and Kathy (Jim) Elinski; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Michael Wernicki; and brothers, Thomas Cappello, Angelo (Bud) Cappello and Daniel Cappello.
Nancy loved spending time with her family, visiting the beach, gardening, sunflowers, cardinals, crafts, playing Scrabble and was a proud supporter of our US Military. She was an active member of St. Clement’s Church and the St. Clement Crafters. With her big smile, Nancy was a joyful person always ready for an adventure. She was a generous soul with a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Nancy will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Michael at Florida National Military Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local diabetes organization.
A visitation will be at Wells Memorial Funeral Home in Plant City on February 6, 2025, 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at St. Clement Catholic Church on February 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
