Peggy Gibbs

GIBBS, PEGGY ELAINE 78, of Plant City, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026. A native and life-long resident of Plant City, except the 3 years she lived in Hawaii. She attended Plant City Senior High School class of 1965. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming an RN, she served in various positions at the hospital and retired after 30 years at SFBH. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plant City. She also was the Reunion Coordinator for the PCHS Class of 1965.

She was preceded in death by her father, John T. (Jack) Gibbs, Jr.; mother, Margaret Herring Gibbs; brother, Dr. Gary A (Gibbs) Bunting; nephew, Doug F. “Gibber” Gibbs; nephew Ken A. Gibbs. She is survived by a daughter Mary Wade Buzza (Matt), son, John Wade (Diana), brother, John “Jack” T. Gibbs III (Liz); grandchildren, Emily Englehart (Les); Erin Buzza; Abigail, Sophia, Charlotte, Victoria, Benjamin Wade; aunt Irene Herring (Tommy d.); many nieces and nephews, Debbie Gibbs (Ken d.), Carole Wright (Bob Burns), Sara (Jose Rivas), Anna, Andrew (Mindy), Paul (Ryan King), Luke, Nathaniel (Kimberlyy), Philip Gibbs (Sloane Whitford), Lauren Gibbs, and Lavender Gibbs; Susan Byus (Trey), Drew Byus; Lindsey Bunting Woodard (Thomas), Brad Bunting (Kimberly), Hayes, Rowe and Miles Bunting.

Peggy was very family oriented and loved all her cousins. Some of her fondest memories was the time she spent with them.

The family will receive friends for visitation and celebration of Peggy’s life Friday, January 16, 6:00pm at Wells Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00a.m. at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W Reynolds St., Plant City, 33563.
