Richard was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He spent 28 years in the service, including two tours in Vietnam. He truly loved serving his country. In fact, he even said if he could spend more time in the service he would have. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, OH, he moved to Valrico, FL. He was the Owner and Operator of Sparkle Pools in the Brandon and Bloomingdale area for 15, years and thereafter, finally retired.
Richard loved his family and friends. He looked forward to spending time with them when he could. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved making people laugh and you had to watch out because he was a HUGE jokester.
Richard enjoyed spending time doing woodworking project's in his workshop, as well as working in the yard and maintaining his orchards. He loved watching NASCAR. Richard and his wife, Peggy, loved traveling to the mountains and the beach. Boy did he love to shop. These are just a few of his passions. He really enjoyed life to the fullest.
Richard F. Grimmel is survived by his loving wife, Peggy W. Grimmel of 17 years, Daughters, Vicky Grimmel and Sandra (John) Miller, Grandchildren, Tim (Stacy) Penkal, Jason (Renee) Sowers, Amber (Clarence) Telleria, Tiffany (Jason) Reid-Cerasia and seven great-grandchildren. Step-Son, David (Tracy) Crescenzi, Step-Daughters Denise Caine, Diana McNair, grandchildren, Stefanie (John) Beichler, Shannon (Jeff) Peterson, Ashley Snodgrass, Dalton (Jessica) Kelly-McNair, Devon McNair, and eight great grandchildren.
