Richard Dewey Martin

Richard Martin is survived by his wife, Lori Martin; sons William Jeffery Martin (Shannon); Richard David Martin (Crystal) and daughter, Rebecca Register (Dane). Six grandchildren; Maggie; Jonathan; Katy; Xander; Riley; and Audrey; and brother, Ron Martin (Linda).

Richard graduated from Hillsborough High School. He worked with CSX Railroad Company for 38 years. He coached high school football at Providence Christian School for twenty-three years, and baseball at Bloomingdale Little League. Richard worked on open wheel sprint cars from 1978 until the present. He worked on sprint cars all over the Eastern United States, winning many races. He was the chaplain for the race club.

Richard was a member of Kings Avenue Baptist Church where he was the finance chairman for 15 years. He was a deacon, led two prayer groups; hospital visits; and was a Sunday school teacher when he was needed, which he continued to do with Generations Church.

Visitation will be held at Generations Church in Brandon, Florida, on June 13, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Generations Church, 2602 S. Kings Avenue, Brandon, Florida, on June 13, 2026, at 11:00 am.

A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall at 12:00 p.m.
