
Robert E. “Bill” McMath, age 89, a great man, went home to Heaven on February 9, 2011. He was born on August 4, 1921 in Cottonwood, Alabama and moved to Plant City in 1926 from Georgia. Bill was a true man of God, a devoted family man, proud Veteran of World War II serving from 1943-1945 as a Navy Sea Bee, and a fine southern gentleman. He was a heavy equipment operator, owner of McMath Roofing, and member of Sydney First Church of God. Bill was preceded in death by two wives, Carolyn Felker McMath (30 years), Gerri O’Mary McMath (34 years) and daughter Marie McMath. Survivors include four sons: Steve McMath (Carol), Elwood McMath (Amanda), Robert Kirkland, Edward Kirkalnd (Kandi); daughter, Jana Butler (Mark); brother, Jack McMath, sisters, Mary Sills, Katie Watkins, Betty Johnson, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Robert E. McMath’s name to LifePath Hospice, 12973 N.
