Robert Benjamin Zakrewski passed away July 26, 2020 at the age of 73. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all whose lives he touched. He was born on October 25, 1946 in Roslyn, New York to Benjamin and Vivian Zakrewski and was the oldest of nine brothers and sisters. He relocated to Florida in 1990, but that never stopped his love for New York sports, namely the New York Rangers and Buffalo Bills. After serving four years in the United States Air Force, Robert worked for the airlines for over 21 years and then as a truck driver for over 15 years traveling the continental U.S. Robert’s biggest loves in his life were his family, his country and making people laugh. Robert is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Kathleen Zakrewski; his two daughters, Barbara Hurst (William) and Karen Jaris (Jon-Paul); his seven grandchildren, Cynthia, Nicholas, Danielle, Regan, Ethan, Kaitlin and Jonathan; and his family and friends. Robert is predeceased by his beloved son, Thomas Zakrewski.
Celebration of Robert’s life will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2:30 pm at Wells Memorial and Event Center in Plant City, Florida. We will begin greeting guests at 2:00 pm.
