Jordan, Ruby L., 93, of Dover, Florida moved on to heaven November 21, 2020. There she was greeted by her much-loved husband Harold L. Jordan and her savior Jesus Christ. She leaves behind her family that she was completely devoted to and loved with all her heart.
She is survived by her daughter Rosa Memmel and son-in-law Robert that made sure she was cared for, comfortable, and loved, granddaughter Jordan that she loved and prayed for daily, great grandson Alex that lit up her eyes every time he came into the room, sister Frances Sasnett of Auburndale, Florida, nephew Boyd Sasnett that is making sure her sister is cared for, niece Cherri Clark (Ron) that lives down the road and checks in, and many nieces and nephews scattered about the country that she spoke of often and tried to keep up with what and how they were doing.
Nama, as Jordan always called her since she learned to talk, was born in Opp, Alabama in 1926, the middle of seven children. She worked most of her life from farming with her husband and mother-in-law to completing her career as a unit secretary at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City retiring in 1994. She loved the Lord and attended First Methodist Church of Dover where she made many life long friends and watched generations grow up. Everyone at church and in the community has tasted and enjoyed her yeast rolls, jams and jellies, and her pickles. Rosie’s favorite was her made from scratch carrot cake. She was a strong women with a stronger character. She was well read and continued to follow the events of the world telling her family of her opinions.
Farewell will be at Well’s Funeral Home Saturday, November 28. Visitation is from 10am-11am, services 11am, followed by a graveside service at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens in Brandon. For those comfortable, a luncheon will be provided at the home of Rosie and Robert in Dover. Mask and social distancing will be provided.
