Sidney M. Tweady, Sr. age 91 of Plant City, Florida, went home to be with the Lord May 22, 2012. He was born July 30, 1920 in Oakdale, Illinois. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII aboard the USS Salt Lake City. He was a wonderful Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and friend; he was a kind and loving Christian man. He was a Carpenter in Local Union 140 for 50 years, farmer, and member of the Springhead United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Avie Lue, 6 sisters and 20 brothers. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Joiner; son, Sid Tweady Jr. (Sue); daughters: Linda Tweady, Nancy Tweady; granddaughter, Candace Tweady Woods (Michael); sisters, Leila Barber, Zelma Winn and Paula Wiles. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 26th at 3:00 p.m. at Springhead United Methodist Church, 2305 Sparkman Road, Plant City, FL 33566, 813-752-5751. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Springhead Cemetery.
