Sixto ha sido mi hermano.  Siempre vivió a su manera.  Lo recuerdo como un hermano entregado a su familia, alegre, bondadoso y sobre todo querido por todos los que le conocieron.  Descansa en paz.  Un día nos encontraremos en la vida eterna/

My grandpa no longer suffers. He leaves an incredible and lasting impression on our family. God blessed his life immensely. 

From Puerto Rico to Chicago and so many places woven in between. He played a big part in pioneering a new reality for our family and made it possible for us to see dreams come true! A man with great pride, ingenuity, determination, creativity and heart. I see some of his character and traits flow through me.

My grandpa was 1 of 21 kids... I vowed to never marry a Puertorican so as not to mess with the gene pool!! but seriously... I have so many relatives! I take great joy knowing that I come from such a huge family. Hopefully God uses me to build up a new and strong legacy and continue the work that the Robles generation before me started. 

No man is without his shortcomings or his faults, however, I thank him, honor him, and love him above all of that. Rest in peace. I pray to see you on eternity's shores one day.

To my Pop my Papi a father who was a hard worker, talented carpenter, strong mind and big heart.  I remember the days when my Pop would work 2nd shift at Wilson Jones and a carpenter during the day.  We managed to buy a home on Mozart Street where the house needed a lot of love.  The house needed to be gutted in and out.   It took many weeks for my  Pop to gut the house there was so much garbage that the whole backyard was completely filled.   I was about 6 years old.  My Pop had to hire extra garbage trucks to pick up almost every day for about two weeks or more.  My Pop managed to make one house into two apartments and we lived upstairs. My Pop can fix anything.
I remember a time when still living at Mozart I really wanted this leopard looking coat mine you I was about 7 years old and he took me and bought for me.  I remember taking buses to get to the store.  He always had change for the ice cream truck and always had a few bucks to spare in his pocket.  
 After I graduated from 8th grade we moved to the Diversey house.  Again he put his talent to work and fixed the house to make it into a 3 apartment building while still working at Wilson Jones. He worked at Wilson Jones for 19 years. There are special moments that my Pop touched my heart.  He was not all about words but we joked around a lot and he always had this great smile. 
I remember all of us as a family going on Sundays to a steak place Ponderosa (I think that was the name) or ordering Father and Son pizza to be delivered at the house and we would watch wrestling or roller derby depending what was more entertaining.  
I remember my Pop picking me up from High School many of times in his pickup truck. He would always try to keep us safe. 
I remember my Pop taking me to buy this beautiful dress at a boutique on Milwaukee Ave that I loved that was perfect for my High School graduation.  I remember the dress was a bit expensive but he bought for me any way. ( I was a bit spoiled)  I still have the beautiful dress I could never part from it because he bought for me.   It's very specialmore than ever now.
I remember going through guy problems and he never really talked to me he mostly made fun of them and had nicknames for them.  But there was one time he sat by my bed and told me whatever you decide just to make sure I'm happy with my decision and he will support me but not to feel obligated be with someone for the wrong reasons.
I remember when I was going to get married and packing up my things from my house and getting them together to move to my new place.  While I was leaving my house my Pop was sitting by the garage and he was crying he said I will help you move in but never help you move out.  He said you will always have a home.
I remember one his last carpenter jobs.  It was the remodeling and fixing of our basement in Gurnee house.  He was so talented.  He did a great job!  It still looks great!
I remember every time I talked to Pop he always asked how things were, how's Nick and Andrew.   
I loved my Pop and he will always be in my heart and I will always remember his sprit and great smile.  When it was time for me to leave I would give him a big hug and tell him to behave himself and bendicion.  He would say, "I will behave give me a big smile and say- Dios de Bendiga" ..Bendicion Popcon todo mi corazon.Evelyn -  Que Dios de Bendiga.

Mi querido hermano Sixto partió al encuentro del Señor. Un gran hermano nos amaba mucho. Tan es así que sabía que su partida estaba cerca y se cumplió su deseo de venir a Puero Rico y estar con nosotros. Gracias Jr., Mechy y Eduardo por su gran dedicación. Estaremos eternamente agradecidos. Sixto descanza en la paz del Señor. Nunca te olvidaremos. Tu hermana y familia.

Pops, I certainly miss you too. I will be proud to continue carrying your name. Te quiero mucho mi padre.  Here is what I said on face book: Unos de mis primeros recuerdos de mi papa fue cuando el Rancho de abuelo Isidoro se encendio y mi papa oyendome inocentemente cantar " el rancho de abuelo se esta quemando ", dando la vuerta y viendo que era verdad, empezo a correr hacia ariba a donde estaba el rancho para ayudar salvar a los rollos de tabaco antes que el fuego consumiera y acababara con todo. Vino de regreso con brea en su dedo grande que se habia diritido del rancho. I also remember sunday evenings in our Chicago home, watching roller-derby and eating delicious Father and Sons Pizza. I remember Pops helping me rehab my first properties in Chicago too. I remember my whole family (Pops, Mom, Mechy, Evelyn and myself), coming to the knowledge and acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christ early spring 1970 at the Primera Iglesia Evangelica Bautista de la 3008 w Cortland after first having attended a Gigi Avila evangelistic campain two weeks prior in Humboldt Park. My dad was not perfect, but he was my Dad. My Pops. I will always love you pops. Now you'll be with grandma and grandpa in peace. No more suffering. No more pain. I miss you. De nuevo, un beso.

On December 23, 2015 @ 7:20 pm my father passed away to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, my grandparents and his aunt Isabel.  My father was a very caring, strong, a believer and sometimes funny person although sometimes he drove me insane. However, without any hesitation I would do everything all over again if I had to. 
He liked to travel especially in his early 20's and in the last 10 years of his life.  The last trip he took was in July of 2015 when he went to visit his brothers, sisters,nephews and nieces. We visited everyone of them within the first 2 days that we were there.  Each got at minimum a 15 minute visit.  We called them doctor's visits. Papi, I miss you everyday.  Love you, Mechy
