Thomas Clasen, 55, of Plant City, Fla., formerly of West Redding, CT. died on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 of metastatic malignant melanoma (diagnosed in July 2011). His sister, Suzanne (Clasen) Kinnear and her husband Larry Kinnear, of Bethel CT. and North Fort Myers, FL. were at his side at the time of his death.
He was the son of Richard and Barbara Clasen of Picketts Ridge Road, West Redding, CT. He graduated from Joel Barlow High School in 1974. Mr. Clasen was the owner of a Subway franchise in Brandon, Fla.
"Tom liked to play drums and the guitar and was working on songs of the genre he particularly liked — jazz," his family said.
Besides his parents, sister and brother-in-law, he is survived by his two children, Bradford and Brittany Clasen.
A Celebration of Life service to celebrate Tommy's life will be held on Feb. 3, 2012 at 6 PM at the Wells Memorial Celebration Center.
