Timothy James Richarme, 57, of Plant City, Florida entered into rest on June, 23, 2021. He was born on April 20, 1964 at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. He was the 7th of 8 children born to Herman J. and Claire M. Richarme. Raised in Fairborn, Ohio as a child, but lived his adult life in the Tampa Bay area. He proudly served with the U.S.M.C.,1982-1986, and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. His most memorable event as a Marine was having the honor to stand guard at the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial. Upon returning to civilian life, he was employed as a security guard and later went to work for many years retiring from Lan Engineering in 2007.
He was predeceased by his parents; Herman J. and Claire Richarme and a brother in law, Dr. Vincent McGinn.
He is survived by a son, Zackery Richarme and husband, James Armstrong of Decatur, GA; seven siblings, Michael (Katie) Richarme of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Emily (Benne') Jenkins of Fairborn, Ohio, Cecelia (John) Hawkins, of Plant City, FL, Dr. Mary McGinn of De Kalk, IL, Kimberly (Mike) Bowen of Fairborn, Ohio, Theresa Richarme of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Jeffrey (Pattie) Richarme of Bradenton, FL; niece, Billie Jo Griffis of Plant City, Florida, his beloved dog, Buddy and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Tim's core values included: be of service to your Country, respect others, be kind to nature, love and care for your animals, no drugs, no baloney, and take care of your neighbors. He enjoyed an uncomplicated life. Tim was a minimalist, he had no desire to have "things". As a younger man, he enjoyed fishing and boating. An auto accident in 2005 and lung cancer rearing its ugly head in 2007 defined the balance of his life. Although his health status changed, Tim did not. He became more of who he was. When Buddy entered his life; a gift from a nurse at Moffitt Cancer Center, Buddy was Tim's lifeline and constant companion. Protective, devoted and thoroughly and properly spoiled. Buddy gave Tim a reason to get up and get moving every day. As Tim adjusted to his new lifestyle, Buddy introduced him back into the new normal. They were inseparable.
Tim adjusted well to the newer relaxed lifestyle. Sister, Cece, and her family were close by to visit and provide any needed helps. He kept in contact with out of state family on social media. Tim was delighted when they came to visit. Occasionally he would take vacation to North Carolina or Ohio to visit family, or to Biloxi, MS, to play the slots or poker. He loved when he turned 55 because he could now move into a "55 and older" park, where he made so many friends.
Tim rarely complained. He would mention things that bothered him at times, the say, "Eh, whatcha gonna do about it?" Or, "it is what it is." Sickly spell or bad pain days were pretty much kept to himself. He was a giver and an old soul. Tim loved a good flea market to pick up small gifts for his neighbors, his "family" a the Lakes at Country Wood. When folks would gift him, his favorite gift would be something he could share. Tim also loved the "four o'clock club", the daily neighborhood gathering. Here he enjoyed a rest, a cookie, a tidbit of news and a good laugh. Ah, this is the life.
Tim had been ill for about a week, with vague flu-like symptoms. He finally went to James Haley VA Hospital and was immediately admitted to the Medical ICU. This was on Monday. His health rapidly deteriorated and he passed quickly and peacefully 2 days later on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. It is a shock to say the least. You fought hard Tim. For years. Semper Fi.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1st at 10:00 a.m. at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida and a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
