Walter Leo Howes

1951 – 2018

Walter Howes, 66, passed peacefully due to medical complications on the evening of Monday, January 15th. A longtime resident of Plant City, Florida, he was born in Rumford, Maine, on August 5th, 1951.

Walter was well known for his happy spirit and witty comical sense of life. A hard worker of multiple jobs his whole life, he enjoyed many restaurant years and bartending at Busch Gardens.

Surviving family includes loving & very close sister, Margaret Howes; son, Kris Howes of Rumford Maine; two brothers, Arthur Howes and wife, Edna & their daughters of Mexico, Maine and brother, David Howes and Betty & their daughters of Lewiston, Maine; his sister in law, Kathy Howes; and his dog, Snow.

He was a loving son of predeceased parents, Margaret McHale(2003) & Alton Howes(2007); brother Alton (Mickey) Howes (2003) & Partner Dennis (Dale) Allen who passed Nov. 7th, 2010 & their dog Star.

A Catholic Mass will be held at 11am Saturday, January 27th, at St. Clement Church in Plant City. The inurnment ceremony will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens at 12:30pm. Family & Friends will gather afterwards.
