Dearest OG, I wish I could have known you for soooo much longer because in the past 8 months, you have inspired me and have brought me joy.....more than you will ever know. Joan (OG) was the most amazing, selfless, strongest and funniest woman I have ever met. She had a heart of gold and made you feel like you were family from the very first time you walked in her door. Her smile was contagious! She knew so much about the world and life and could give such good advice. The day I brought my youngest son to her house (Her boy crush) they sat and talked football, life, school and made jokes with him for hours;  it was like she knew him is whole life. She made an impact on his life and I will truly be forever grateful to her for that! All I know is that the world lost one AMAZING lady and heaven gained one heck of ANGEL! OG you will be truly missed. Rest in eternal peace and Dance on… XOXO

I remember the first time I met Joan. She made me feel like I had known her for a million years.  She always made me feel so welcomed and loved. Its hard to come by real, genuine people. However, if you knew Joan Rogers then you knew these people really did exist.  Joan has made an impact on my life and I am honored to have had the opportunity to share beautiful memories with her. When I gave birth, she came to see my son and I twice, knowing she should not be driving. I said. "Joan, you should not be driving!" She looked at me and said "oh hush, now don't go on telling Michelle I was here, I just had to see this little cowboy." Its moments like these that just sucked me in even more. She did that for me...and I will never forget it. Joan caught the bouquet at my wedding. Oh yes, she did. I had about 30 crazy single women behind me trying to scoop those flowers up, but somehow she dove in there. She's an original. Joan, I hope you can read this from heaven... I love you with all my heart. I can't even begin to explain the void that there is now without you but one thing that is for sure is that you will be with us always. You, Mel and Jim must be dancing up a storm. To the family, my deepest condolences. We are here for you always every step of the way. We love you so much.

Words escape me. I will always remember my Aunt Joan as a loving & inviting woman that I always enjoyed visiting. I'm so happy for all the time I got to spend with her during my vacation visits as a child & after I moved to Hollywood as an adult. I will always remember her fondly & she will be truly missed.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss.  May your mom rest in peace and she be greeted by your father and sister in heaven.  What a wonderful celebration that will be!  Love you guys!

I'm truly sorry for your loss.   My thought and prayers go out to the entire family.

This weekend I lost my mother-in-law whom was the nicest person I have ever known in my life. When I described OG I would always say, “If you were on the Titanic she would be first in line to say, “Here take my life preserver I will be just fine” and she would do that with next 20 life preservers, as well”. She was the most selfless person I have ever known. I was blessed and honored to be her son-in-law and to have known her for the last 28 years. The memories that were created in her household defined what family should be… my kids experienced what a true grandmother is all about. She would bake cookies with them, color Easter eggs, have football pools, play wheel of fortune, decorate the Christmas tree and bang pots and pans with them on New Year's Eve. My kids and I have experienced 28 years of holidays with her and I can't imagine the future without her. Her home was always open to anyone that had no place to eat or stay…she had an open door policy for everyone on the planet. 

 The strength she displayed throughout her illness was astonishing. She gave us all a life lesson to never give up on yourself or your dreams. She displayed such courage in the face of adversity and she always did it with a smile on her face and telling a joke to make “you” laugh!

We have truly lost one of the most sincere, genuine and positive people to have walked on this planet. Thank you for being such a great mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. OG I miss you with all my heart. I love you.

My last conversation with her ended like they usually did when I would visit her Loving home, "when you come back, bring those shears so I can cut that hair" she would say. So sorry to hear of her passing. Everyone I have met in her family is not only a reflection of the wonderful woman she was but also a living breathing part of that will live on. I feel blessed to have spent a little time with her.

Kind. Loving. Giving. Fun and funny. Honest. Trustworthy and trusting. Friendly. Generous. Good to the very core of her being. Smart. Beautiful.                                   All these words and more describe dear Joan.    When you meet Joan, she makes you feel like you have known her all your life. She listens with a loving heart. She speaks from the heart. She values you and she makes you feel good inside. No one else compares to her. If you know her, she tells you about her parents: a beautiful story of how her parents took such good care of her. She loved her parents dearly and they taught her many good lessons about self-reliance and keeping your family close. I loved listening to Joan talk about her parents. The love she had for her parents was great. Another great love for her was her husband Jim. Her love for her daughters was so strong and enduring. Joan loved her grandchildren so much. Her home was always full of family. She has the gift of an open, giving heart.  Joan has always been a good neighbor and friend to everyone. I love Joan. She is in my heart. I will never forget her. I know she is at peace. Her life is and shall forever be a blessing to us all.
