Anicuta Hau

December 30, 1949November 3, 2018

To my dear departed mother, Anicuta Hau, known as Oana to those closest to her, who passed away on Saturday, November 3. With immense courage, you left everything you had known in Romania behind, and dedicated the rest of your life to building a better life for us here in Canada. You truly made this world a better place, not only for us, but also for everyone whose life you touched. You always had a kind word to share, and were immensely generous with your knowledge, time and care. You taught us to treasure all living things, to appreciate music, to travel often and far, and to laugh like our lives depended on it. I am so grateful to have been your daughter and to have been able to hold your hand until the very end. You will be greatly missed by so very many, mom. We aren’t quite sure how we will be able to carry on without you yet, but we promise to try.

You were always there for us. We shared happiness and also a lot of pain. You shared love unconditionally and never gave up. You were there to guide us, to make us into who we are. I always knew that I could come to you, whatever was troubling me. You were a wonderful human being and I hope I can be half as good as you were. I hope you are in a better place with all the people you loved that have been taken from us. I hope you can see us and still guide us from there. To see the little ones grow and enjoy their laughter. You deserve your rest. We will honor you trough our actions and how we live our lives. One day we will meet again, until that day I hope you are watching over us and we will try to make you proud. I was lucky to have you as my mother. I will not say goodbye just safe journey and you will always be in my heart.

To our Buni and beloved mother in law, may you rest in peace, may the wind carry you to eternal peace, may the waves of the sea always sing your favorite song, and may the hilltops be the pillow you gently rest your head upon. Our hearts will always be filled with the love that you so generously embraced us with. Every ray of sunshine will remind us of your warm caresses, every breeze of warm air will remind us of your hugs and kisses, every bird’s song will remind us of your joy and laughter when you were surrounded by your grandchildren. Heaven is a better place with you there. May beautiful angels carry you in their arms and surround you with the love And caring that you yourself have given to all those around you.
