Born to Ruth Dubé and Paul-Emile Richard, she was the second of four children. Her brother, Bob (Robert), and sister, Tootsie (Gertrude), predeceased her. She is survived by her younger brother, Paul. The family lived on Ile-Bigras, Laval; and Anne-Marie spent the majority of her life as a resident of the community and in the parish of Notre Dame de l’Espérance. She took enormous pride in her home on the Island and loved to tend and enjoy her garden full of blossoms.
Anne-Marie was with Warners for over thirty years. She was a woman ahead of her time: hard-working, devoted and very successful in her own right. Never one to shy away from making her way in the world with no apologies, she was proud to be single, adventurous and determined to live every moment to the fullest. She embraced retirement with annual fishing trips in the North, cruising the world and eventually buying a home away from home in Florida’s sunny Gulf Coast. This southern base did not stop her curiosity for other locales, and she continued to explore the four corners of the globe.
On one of these trips, her path crossed with a gentleman who became her dance partner and source of laughter, joy and love. Jim showered Anne-Marie with the happiness she deserved and constantly challenged her to embrace each new day. She is missed.
Her many family members and extensive friends all hold memories of her stories, laughter, expressions and ability to engage with anyone in the room.
As per her wishes, there will be no visitation; however, a funeral mass will be held at Notre Dame de l’Espérance on Saturday, October 12 at 11:00 am (891 chemin de la Fourche, Laval, H7Y 1S9). Anne Marie will be interred in the early morning at Cote des Neiges Cemetery on October 24 when the fall leaves are at their prettiest.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
