After a lengthy illness and valiant battle with cancer, Tony passed away peacefully at home on August 25th, 2020, with his family by his side. Tony was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on May 24th, 1937, and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1958. He was the beloved husband of Maura (Glynn) for fifty-six wonderful years; devoted father of Sean, James (Valérie Turbide), Maureen (Christopher Camisa); proud and adored Opa of Jonathan Tieman, Marie Michelle, Sophie and Émilie Tieman Turbide, Sabrina, Christopher and Isabella Camisa; dear brother of John (Martha deceased), Marianne de Vlieger (Kees deceased), Mieke Verboven (Leo), Ellen Hedrei (Bernard), and Katerina Scott (David); brother-in-law of Eileen and Sean Glynn. Tony leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, and will be sadly missed by his dear friends.
Visitation will be held at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home in Pointe Claire (222, Autoroute 20) on Sunday, August 30th from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm and 9pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Edmund of Canterbury Church, Beaconsfield, on Thursday, September 3rd at 2pm (attendance is by invitation only due to COVID-19 restrictions).
