Dear Greg and Mrs. Dow,
I send my deepest sympathy to you and your family . I had not seen or spoke to Chris for more than twenty -five years. It was very hard for me to read about Chris as he was a good friend growing up. 
Chris was a founding  member of the Hillcrest Gang garage band. We had about ten songs that we knew very well.  the best songs were Hey Jude, Let it be , Satisfaction, Last train to Clarksville ,Back in the USSR ? and Paper back writer ?, So Happy together .I remember playing down stairs in your home, in  the room facing Valley street and Chris and David Crevier being the organizers, and  music smarts and piano schooling they set up the timing and all the progressions . We had a lot of laughs and fun.
 I Thank you Mrs. Dow for all that you did for our little group of young friends. Ken  and yourself gave alot and without a doubt your imput made the difference. I remember going to see a James bond movie at the Dorval Cinema with Chris, David and Ian that was absolutely a fantastic memory . I also remember Chris sneaking out his Dad's old Gibson  semi- hollow based 175 Electric Jazz guitar a real beauty and we each had a go on the guitar. This guitar was a gem a beautifully crafted guitar. We also had alot of fun in Scouts . I remember being at a  Scout camp ( Brome lake) We built a Fire pit , Chris had made  stools for the fire place, and built a grease pit . We were awarded the certificate for the best and well organized camp sites for this scout event.  I wanted to say that Ian Smith being the Artist was invited to  Chris's 15th birthday party . the theme was Hockey night in Hillcrest Gardens at the  rink . Our group consisted of. Chris , Ian, David, Glen Charlesworth, and I. Ian did an Illustration of all five of us all suited up and in the line before the game. I had this illustration framed it was on my office wall for forty years. I embrace you and send my love. sincerely, Randall Black

I sit here watching “Leave It To Beaver” and remembering the first time I watched the show as a little girl. I had such a crush on Wally! I decided to look up the actors of the show and saw the obituary of Tony Dow. My heart broke a little knowing my first crush was gone. My condolences to the Dow family. There will never be another young actor as sweet and cute as Tony Dow, heartthrob Wally Cleaver!

I grew up watching " Leave it to Beaver " But I never heard of the newer one with Tony's son in it. It would have to be good if your Tony's son. Maybe they will put it back on tv someday, I'd love to see it. I love watching the old shows, alot of the shows they air nowadays dont have any family values, like the old ones. I'm sorry for your familys loss. Write me back if you can.
