He leaves behind his beloved partner Claire McDougall, the mother of his children Karen Hall, daughter Wendy (Simon Bolyn) and son Scott (Julie Ogilvie). He was a doting Gampy to Joanna and Robert Bolyn, Unc/Grunc to nephew David Wright (Jeanne), niece Diane (David Smith), three great-nephews and their families, and a dear friend to so many.
Born and raised in Halifax, he studied at Dalhousie before beginning his career as a financial advisor in Montreal. Dave lived life to the fullest - he was a catalyst of gatherings with family & friends, who loved classical music and travelling - especially cruising! Many a belly laugh was had in his presence. He was both an accomplished golfer, having been a member of the Kanawaki Golf Club for 55 years, and a champion curler who represented Quebec in the 1973 Brier and who won the Canadian Masters National championship in 2003.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Royal Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion.
