Denis Cullen

June 4th, 1933 - October 13th, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Denis Cullen, born in Dublin, Ireland and living in Pointe-Claire, announce his peaceful passing on Thursday October 13th 2022 at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland.

Widow of the late Geneviève Roy (2002), Denis will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Kathleen Roy-Cullen and grandchildren Shawn and Adam Massé, his son Steven Roy Cullen (Nadia Bouchard-Ouellet), his brother Anthony “Tony” (the late Maura Willis), his sister Roseleen “Rose” (the late Daniel “Danny” Howard), his many nephews and nieces, his friends and caring neighbors. Denis was predeceased by his parents Arthur Cullen and Anne Hackett as well as his sisters Mary (the late Patrick Leonard), Pauline (the late Sean Murphy) and Teresa (the late John Loftus).

We will always remember his love of books and boundless curiosity. His thirst for knowledge and scientific rationality propelled him through his professional life from a radar technician for the Royal Air Force to a computer technician for IBM and Microgen, his own company. His quest for understanding how the world works was undeniably passed down to his children.

À la Résidence de soins palliatifs Teresa-Dellar à Kirkland le 13 octobre 2022 est décédé M. Denis Cullen conjoint de feu Geneviève Roy.

Né à Dublin en Irlande et demeurant à Pointe-Claire, Denis laisse dans le deuil sa fille Kathleen Roy-Cullen et ses petits-fils Shawn and Adam Massé, son fils Steven Roy Cullen (Nadia Bouchard-Ouellet), son frère Anthony “Tony” (feu Maura Willis), sa sœur Roseleen“Rose” (feu Daniel “Danny” Howard), ses nombreux neveux et nièces, ses amis et ses voisins attentionnés. Denis a été précédé dans la mort par son père Arthur Cullen, sa mère Anne Hackett et ses sœurs Mary (feu Patrick Leonard), Pauline (feu Sean Murphy) et Teresa (feu John Loftus).

Nous nous souviendrons toujours de son amour pour les livres et de sa curiosité sans limites. Sa soif de comprendre et son esprit scientifique l’ont guidé au cours de sa carrière que ce soit en tant que technicien de radar pour la Royal Air Force ou à titre de technicien d’ordinateur pour IBM et sa propre entreprise, Microgen. Sa quête visant à comprendre comment le monde fonctionne a indéniablement été transmise à ses enfants.

La famille aimerait remercier l’équipe de la Résidence de soins palliatifs Teresa-Dellar pour leur professionnalisme et l’excellence des soins offerts.
