It is with great sadness that the family of Drusilla Hewitt Davis announces her passing. A native of Quebec City, she was predeceased by her loving husband of over fifty years, Brian. Drusilla was the proud mother of seven children: Gail (Danny), Brian, who predeceased her in 2017 (Beverley), Linda, Gary (Sarah), John (Ann), Drusilla (Jim), and Sandra (Dave). She will be sorely missed by her fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Hewitt and Monica Warren, as well as by her brothers, Earle and James Hewitt. She also leaves to mourn her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We will all miss her warm, bright smile, her playfulness, and her incredible sense of humour. She had a lovely voice and spent many family parties singing and dancing and being the life of the party.
Drusilla was blessed with an indomitable spirit, and never wasted a moment of her 100 plus years. She was always smiling and positive, never having an unkind word to say against anyone. A life-long learner of languages, arts, crafts (you name it, she did it!), and was always willing and eager to impart what she learned.
She was an avid golfer despite having only taken up the sport at the age of 60, to join Dad when he retired. Like everything else she did, she approached golf with determination and passion. Impressively, over the course of her playing years (until 92 years old!), she had three holes-in-one.
A natural born teacher, she taught many of her children and grandchildren to tap dance, cook and even play piano. It was with love in her heart that she devoted many hours to taking care of her grandchildren.
