It is with great sadness that we announce that on June 19th, 2020 at the age of 89 years old, Gerald J. Melanson, loving husband of Bernardine LeBlanc for 64 years, peacefully passed away at Sunrise in Beaconsfield (Qc) surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 12th, 1930 in Scoudouc, New Brunswick, he met and married his life-long partner, moved to Quebec and settled in Chateauguay to raise his family. He had a long-standing career with CN and Air Canada. He also leaves behind his children Lise (Richard Caldwell), Josette (Robert Sadokierski) and Paul; his grandchildren Elizabeth, Alexandra, Eric, Khrystel, Mathieu and Marissa; and one great-granddaughter, Vanessa. He will be sadly missed, remembered and never forgotten by many relatives and friends. Heartfelt thanks go out to the entire staff of Sunrise Beaconsfield for the excellent tender loving care and support he received during the last 4 years of his struggle with Alzheimer’s. We are all immensely grateful! A celebration of life will be planned at a future date in New Brunswick, where he will find his final resting place. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.

He sported an engaging smile, saved for those in his circle, and well appreciated by all. I will always hold that smile dear. Rest well.

On behalf of my mom, Kati, my thoughts are with the family.
