announce the passing of our dear beloved mother Ili (Ilona) Hetenyi on April 27, 2023 following a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 80.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Richard Hetenyi.
Born in Budapest in 1942, she came to Canada 1971 and has been a part of the Pointe Claire community since 1973.
She lived for and was a wonderful mother to Richard, Gabor (Debbie). She was always there when we needed her. She greatly loved her grandchildren William (Caasie), Erik (Erin) and Megan (Donald). She leaves behind her brother Joseph Somody, nephews Christian and Nicholas. Cousin and best friend Margaret Poth and nieces Lucy and Sylvia. Countless family friends and many acquaintances made throughout her 35 years at Swiss Vienna.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 14th from 11AM to 1PM in the Salon Patrimoine, followed by the celebration of life at 1PM in the Chapel. Then, the family will have a reception from 2PM to 5PM at Collins Clarke Funeral Home, located at 222 Autoroute 20 in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.
Always there to help out, always smiling, and laughing to the very end. She went out gracefully with peace and dignity.
