James Leonard Dodd

James Leonard Dodd passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at the Lakeshore General Hospital, where he received wonderful and compassionate care.

Jim was a devoted husband to Suzanne, a loving father to Caroline (Andrew) and Lise (Paul), a proud grandfather to Alexandre, Mathieu (Mariah), Philippe and Nicolas, a caring brother to Betty and Bill, a beloved uncle to Peter, Ginger, Jonathan, Matthew and Anna, a dependable brother-in-law to Pierre and Hélène, a cherished cousin and a loyal friend to many.

Jim was, above all, a family man—our rock—whose strength, wisdom, and steady presence anchored those who loved him. He served as Honourary Colonel in the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment, RCA, a commitment he carried with pride throughout his life and where he made lifelong friends. A natural storyteller, Jim had a gift for sharing memories, laughter, and lessons, often bringing people together through his words and warmth.

Jim will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his integrity, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.

We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the LGH staff of the Day Medicine Clinic, the Oncology Department, the Emergency Department and to 4 North.

James Leonard Dodd est décédé paisiblement le 3 janvier 2026 à l'hôpital général Lakeshore, où il a reçu des soins merveilleux et attentionnés.

Jim était un mari dévoué à Suzanne, un père aimant pour Caroline (Andrew) et Lise (Paul), un grand-père fier d'Alexandre, Mathieu (Mariah), Philippe et Nicolas, un frère attentionné pour Betty et Bill, un oncle bien-aimé pour Peter, Ginger, Jonathan, Matthew et Anna, un beau-frère fiable pour Pierre et Hélène, un cousin chéri et un ami loyal pour beaucoup.

Jim était avant tout un homme de famille, notre roc, dont la force, la sagesse et la présence constante ont été un soutien pour ceux qui l'aimaient. Il a été colonel honoraire du 2e Régiment d'artillerie de campagne, RCA, un engagement qu'il a assumé avec fierté tout au long de sa vie et où il s'est fait des amis pour la vie. Conteur né, Jim avait le don de partager ses souvenirs, ses rires et ses leçons de vie, rassemblant souvent les gens grâce à ses paroles et à sa chaleur.

Jim nous manquera profondément et restera à jamais dans nos mémoires pour son intégrité, sa générosité et son amour indéfectible pour sa famille.

Nous tenons à remercier sincèrement le personnel de la clinique de médecine de jour, du service d'oncologie, du service des urgences et du 4e étage nord de l'Hôpital général de Laval.
