I will always miss my uncle James and he was my favourite uncle ever. from Lexie.

James filled a space in this World in a way that was unique to him; a truly exceptional human being, whose kindness and care were extraordinary.
It may be that the loss of certain persons is harder to bear, more painful and difficult to accept. This has been my experience of having to accept that his presence, physically, can no longer be felt.
However, his legacy of character and personality remains as a deeply loving link with him that will never die. Much love to him and to those that he left behind. May his memory bring them joy and peace.

The star of the show...We all miss you and your smile, mate...we really do. I just backtracked on all of our last messages back and forth and as far as they go, they were all so sunny and positive. See you back stage old friend...see you back stage.

Dear James,
I never thought it would be this way, me typing a goodbye letter.
It was because of love that we got to meet, your sister, my brother.
Truly grateful you got to connect with my big brother, as he is truly one of a kind. Truly thankful you were the uncle to pass on your musical talents to Jacko and Lexie. As they would tell you, I don't think it was going to be me. Every time I hear clocks by Coldplay, it will be you that comes to mind.
Although our time together was short, I will never forget the bond we shared. I always remember an image of you in my mind, it feels like yesterday. Sitting with you on the balcony of your hotel room late at night, smoking a cigarette.
So much style, so much grace. A beautiful silhouette. 
I often said to myself I can't wait for the day to get over your way to spend time with you, have a beer. I know the conversation would of picked up exactly where it left off all those years ago.
That's the hardest part, not because of how little time we had, but the time we don't have to come.
I promise I will always be there for Erinn, you have my word.
I take comfort knowing next time I see you, we will have all the time in the world.

I was lucky enough to have known James while we were both studying cinema at Dawson College. He was a most unique and memorable person and his wit, charm, kindness and talent was undeniable. I won't be able to see a James Dean film or a hear Frank Sinatra song without thinking of him. It was a lovely, touching and moving service.  To James' family, partner and friends all my deepest condolences and love.

To Gary, Debbie, Erinn and family.  We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of James' passing.  We have fond memories of James at St-John Fisher School, as well as at the Valois Pool and the Library.  He always had a wonderful smile and you knew it was genuine.

My dearest James, it has been a few months since we last spoke and a couple of years since we last saw each other, but distance and time didn’t affect the bond we had. We met at a very definitive and formative period of our lives and I will always be grateful for having cross paths with you my dear friend. We shared some GREAT adventures and I’ll always remember your immense talent and your wonderful voice, but most of all your big heart and your amazing ability to find beauty in the mundane. I will always miss you but I’m also certain, that sooner or later we will meet again to sing a Sinatra song together.

I am heartbroken at the loss of my very good friend James. Over the years we became closer and he always had a positive outlook on life, which in turn made me look at life diffently and with a more positive attitude. Thank you for that James. He taught me to not sweat the small stuff. We had countless deep talks and I learned so much from this beautiful and intelligent man. I will forever cherish our friendship and never forget your smile, humor, and how you always made me laugh. To Mr and Mrs Harrington, you have raised an exceptional son. I had the pleasure to have James in my grade 5 class in 1996-97 at St-John Fisher school in Pointe-Claire. He was the sweetest of students! A 10 year old gentleman! Here are 2 pics of that time. One pic is my grade 5 class and the other is at Erin's graduation at St-Thomas HS. Very recently (2019 I think), I met James again. What a surprise! He was my waiter at RUBEN's downtown. I met him at that restaurant a couple of times. He told me about his artistic ambitions. It was such a pleasure to see him again ! It was easy to see that he had become a wonderful adult with a beautiful soul. I'm completely heartbroken by this terrible news. I offer you, Isabelle, and his family my deepest sympathies.
