James Hewton

yet consolation, that we announce the passing of James (Jim/Jimmy/Gigi) Ward Hewton, after his brave journey through health challenges. Beloved son of the late Howard James Borden Hewton and Marjorie Hilda Ward, and beloved brother to the late Bob (Mary). Loving partner and best friend to Sandra (Sandy) Potten who predeceased him in 2012. Dearly loved father of Lee-Anne (Denis) and predeceased son John (Linda). Devoted stepdad to Andrea (Domenic), Candace (René), and Ryan (Kerrie) Seniw. Cherished Grandpa Gigi to Candice (Bobby), Kayleigh (Evan), Jackie, Evan, and Olivia. Proud great-grandfather to Zachary and Alexis. Special brother-in-law to Steve (Beverley) and Spencer (Veronica). Beloved cousin to John Glatzmayer and family. Sincere friend to many.

Jimmy loved Sandy deeply and cherished their many years of special memories together. He enjoyed gatherings with family and friends and especially treasured fishing trips to Camp Kipawa and Temiscaming. In addition to being an avid fisherman, Jimmy was known for making (and eating) delicious meals, and sharing his food and affection with animals. He loved to indulge in a good glass of wine, watch football on Sundays, solve crossword puzzles, and discuss current news and weather.

For those who got to know Jimmy well, they got to experience his wit and sense of humour, his casual demeanour, and his generous heart.

Jimmy is now resting in peace with the love of his life: Sandy.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20th, from 2pm to 4pm, at Collins Clarke, 222A Highway 20, Pointe-Claire, Quebec. A service from 4pm to 6pm will follow for family and close friends of Jimmy.
