Obituary of Janice Goguen (MacQueen)
It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce that Janice Goguen (née MacQueen) passed away on January 15th, 2023, at the age of 82, in Montreal, QC. Janice, a loving wife, mother, and good friend to many, is survived by her daughters Carole (Brian) Goguen, Lynne (Craig) Goguen, grandchildren Elizabeth and Alexander de Solla, sister-in-law Pauline De Trano, and nephews Yves and Luc Arsenault. She is predeceased by her husband Donald, her parents Thomas MacQueen, Marie Reid (née Pushie), sisters-in-law Irène Goguen, Carmelle Goguen and Hélène Arsenault, niece Julie De Trano, and brothers-in-law Clovis Arsenault and Frank De Trano. Born in New Glasgow, NS, Janice moved to Montreal in 1952 and lived in Lachine, Dorval, and Kirkland. Janice attended Business College in Montreal and worked in pharmaceuticals before devoting herself full-time to her family. She made many wonderful memories with family and friends in the summertime at their cottage on Lake MacDonald in Harrington, QC, and then spent most of her golden years enjoying life at their house in La Conception, QC. An avid reader who loved music and trivia, Janice also enjoyed playing bridge and doing crossword puzzles. She will be remembered for her strength, determination, sharp mind, and witty sense of humour. The family would like to give our utmost gratitude and sincere appreciation to her team of doctors and nurses at the MUHC for their exceptional care in recent years. Very special thanks go out to MUHC IPO Vivianne Amos, Drs. Spicer, Owen, Asselah, Panet-Raymond and Ramia for helping our family have many years of extra time together. A visitation at 10 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. will be held for Janice and Donald on Saturday, January 28th, 2023, at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, located at 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, QC H9S 3X6.
