It is with sadness that we announce Leona passed away on November 2, 2018, at the age of 95, after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gordon of 61 years. She will be missed by her children Elaine (Gene), Reg (Cynthia), and Ruth (Bob). She was devoted to her grandchildren Gordon, Matthew, Randi, Alice, Cole and Chad and great-grandchildren William, Carolyn, John and Ashton. She is survived by her dear sister Kathleen (Jack) and sister-in-law, Marg. She was predeceased by her brother, Adrian. Among her many passions were gardening, she took special pride in her rose bushes---animals, from her series of budgies all named Peter, to her many cats and her beloved German Shepherds---and baking, no one could resist her famous apple pies and butter tarts! As well, her boundless energy saw her enjoy square dancing well into her 80s. She was passionate about her Expos. A highlight was a trip to their spring training camp in Florida where she met her favourite baseball player, Gary Carter. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Ile-Perrot for 46 years. She worked at the Royal Victoria Hospital for 29 years and told everyone if they ever needed hospital care, the RVH was the place to be. The family offers a very special thanks to Jane and Janet who showed her tender compassion and kindness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Collins, Clarke, MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe Claire.
