My mother loved a party. She loved her family, her friends, Port Lewis, Orford Lake, her apartment and Melbourne Beach.
She is survived by a family who loved her very, very much: her daughter Judy and son in law Dave; her cherished grandson Brendan and his wife Katie and her adored great grandson Aodhàn.
She enjoyed and appreciated her step grandchildren Neil and Jessica, Heather, and Christine and Ben and all their children.
She loved Bud, her husband of fifty years. She loved her sisters Margaret and Jean and brother Drew, who all passed away before her. She particularly loved her brother Graham and his wife Lee. In addition, her brother in law Ross and his wife Anne remained close all her life.
And of course all her nieces and nephews! She loved you all and had lots and lots of pictures!
My thanks go to all of you who were her friends and kept in touch: Lorne and Cheryl, Patricia, Polly Ann, David and Doug, Janet, Elaine, Cheryl F. and Brian.
She also loved Peter Delaney and his wife Ann, who we include as part of the family. Peter was her support, her caregiver and her friend and he made her apartment life not only possible, but sometimes fun.
Finally, the kind and compassionate team at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence helped us until the end. I cannot say enough good things about them. Thank you all so much.
Thanks also to the doctors, nurses and staff of 4 North and South at the Lakeshore General Hospital, who also provided excellent care to my mum.
Donations to either of these organizations would be greatly appreciated:

Instead of a funeral service, I’d like each of you, at 4:45pm in the afternoon, to pour your favourite libation and toast my feisty mum Lorna, who would take her first sip of her scotch and water every afternoon and say “Oh boy, that’s a good drink”. Cheers.
