Died peacefully in her sleep on August 8 at the Royal Victoria Hospital after a courageous fight against ovarian cancer. Born during the recession in Mirror, Alberta and raised on a ranch near Buffalo Lake during her youth, Marjorie often rode her horse (Jack) to school from age 6 and developed a strong, "never quit" work ethic. In 1948 she attended the Nursing program at U of T to get her RN and met Bill whom she married in 1952. Over the years, they lived in Toronto, Halifax, Calgary and Montreal, where they settled in 1968. In 1974, Marje embarked on a real estate career and over 33 years became one of Royal LePage's top agents, earning numerous awards, including Chairman's Club (top 1%) distinction, and numerous friendships. Marjorie was never one to sit still and over the years took great joy volunteering, gardening, travelling, curling, golfing and spending time with her friends and family who frequently witnessed her notorious humour and propensity for pranks. Marjorie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her husband and best friend of sixty years, Bill; her three children: Beverley (Bob Marien), Pamela (Harold Kunik), and Hume (Sandra); her grandchildren: Ryan, Meaghan, and Martina Marien; Shawn, Jennifer, and Leanne Kyle; and Aaron and Lara Kunik; her sister Francis Campbell, and nephew Alan (Karen); and by her many friends. Special thanks to the caring doctors, nurses and staff who were invaluable to Marjorie these past three years at the Women's Pavilion in the RVH and the CLSC as well as everyone at the Stillview Family Medical Centre who embraced and attended to Marjorie (and Bill) as if they were part of their family. We would especially like to recognize Drs. Stanimir, Sturgeon, Menzies and Campbell, as well as Monica at L'Esprit Sport for their extraordinary care. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made to the "CLSC Lac- Saint-Louis and Pierrefonds Foundation" - note on cheque for Home Care on behalf of Kyle family and send to Linda Fowler, CLSC's Lac-Saint-Louis, 180 Avenue Cartier, Pointe- Claire, Que, H9S 4S1. The visitation will be held at the Collins Clarke Funeral Home in Pointe Claire, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 17 and the Funeral Service will be held at Cedar Park United Church on August 18 at 11 a.m. with a reception afterwards to which all are invited. Marje lived her life to its fullest and will be fondly remembered by all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
