She left us at the age of 90 years young on Wednesday December 6th at the CHSLD Bayview residence in Pointe Claire, surrounded by all of her family who would not leave her bedside.
Millie went to join the love of her life, Stan (THE MAN) Camus, who passed on September 1, 2018. Millie is survived by her children Sue (Frank), Barb (Paul), Doug (Tracey), Glenn (Bonita), Dolores (Kevin), and Judy, as well as 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
She loved her family like no other. Millie could smell a party a mile away, and would join it, but more times than not …. SHE WAS THE PARTY. She’d start dancing and singing to the old country tunes, and belt out a rendition of “PLEASE HELP ME I’M FALLING” with her sister Wilma, where only by accident or the sheer will of God would they hit a good note. She was always always always laughing and having a good time, whether it was dancing in the kitchen of her trailer, playing the spoons by the campfire at night while Stan played the guitar and sang, or just with her family at parties and get-togethers.
The entire Camus family wishes to thank and express our heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care provided by all the staff at CHSLD Bayview residence in Pointe Claire. During her passing, staff from all floors were coming in to sadly say goodbye, one after the other - all in tears. In the years that Millie was there, we NEVER had to worry about the care she was receiving. Thank you !
Millie’s celebration of life will take place on Saturday, January 6th at the Cimetière et Complexe Funéraire Belvedère, 22025 Trans-Canada Hwy, Senneville - off hwy 40 west just before the bridge Visitation 13:00 – 14:30, ceremony from 14:30 – 15:30, small reception 15:30 – 17:15.
