Neil Amyot

December 21, 1957October 28, 2011

Neil died peacefully surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer at the Montreal General Hospital on Friday October 28, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (née Thompson), and cherished father of Christopher (Lisa), Nathaniel and Brandon. Left to mourn are his father Jean Amyot, sister Jeannette Lirette and brother Laurent, his in-laws, Percy and Jean Thompson, his sisters-in-law Gayle Ferrill (Bob), and Brenda Raycraft (Darcy), and brother-in-law Glenn Thompson (Jackie). He is pre-deceased by his mother Marthe Amyot (2010) and brother-in-law Norman Lirette (2001). He will always be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. A special thank you to the nursing staff and physicians of the nineteenth floor at the hospital for their care and compassion. He loved his work at the STM, was an avid hockey fan, coach, and would never miss an opportunity for a joke. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visitation will be at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home in Pointe-Claire (222 autoroute 20) on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a memorial service.

I was sad to recently find out about the passing of Neil. I worked with him for a short period of time but he was a very smart, kind and thoughtful person.

We had a great relationship and I truly enjoyed working with him.

May god give you strength during this difficult time.

Sandra, Brandon, Christopher, Nathaniel, I'm so sorry for your loss. We'll remember him the most when we think about our days in London. He was very funny and let us tease him endlessly about his English expressions and charades. Our thoughts and sympathies are with you.

Love Sue and Darrell

I was sadden to hear of the passing of Neil. I worked with him in Wal-Mart on Decarie Blvd and thought of him as a friend. I sometimes would see him at Angrignon metro and it was nice to chat for a few minutes. You will be missed, Neil.

Sandra & Brandon & family
We were shocked and very sad to read about Neil's passing. We remember what a special gesture he did by getting Tyler a "Wii" ( which was sold out ) and delivering it to us in time for his birthday. Gestures like this make people like Neil special and leave us with fond memories.
Our deepest sorrow

Sandra, Christopher, Nathaniel and Brandon
We would like to let you know that you're in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
I was looking through my pictures of Ti-Pit and I found one of him when he was younger in a blue shirt. I think it's a school picture and then I found your wedding picture at Lee Park.
I will miss him even though we didn't see each other that often.I have great memories of him picking me up on his red bike and taking me with him everywhere. He got me hooked on Billy Joel and his collection of Tintin.
Take care and we love you!

Aunt Sandra, Chris, Lisa, Nathaniel, and Brandon.

We are thinking of you today and wish we could be there. Uncle Neil was a very special person in my life, my best friend, he was someone I could always call for advice...basically he was my "other" Dad. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

Aunt Sandra, Shirley and I are sending all our love and great big hugs...the boys, I am just a phone call away, call me anytime to talk, I know what your going through...
