March 3 1929 –March 10 2018
Devoted wife, loving mother, steadfast friend on March 10, 2018 at Lakeshore General Hospital in Montréal.
Patty was born in Lincoln Nebraska and raised in Montréal, the daughter of Carlton Barnhart Peirce and Esther (Wood). She attended Macdonald College and it was there that she met her husband William Douglas Harper. They married October 30, 1954 and raised their 5 children in Montréal, with stops in Dartmouth Nova-Scotia, and Winnipeg, Manitoba. In retirement, she and Doug moved to an acreage near Argyle, Manitoba and established a business – Oak Grove Gardens & Preserves. They became well known in local farmers markets and craft shows for their line of special jams and jellies, Manitoba maple syrup and bountiful fresh produce. After Doug’s passing in 2000, Patty eventually relocated to Beaconsfield in 2009, where she was very fortunate to make many friendships in her remaining years. Patty was predeceased by her parents, her brother Carlton Wood and two daughters Jennifer Michelle and Shirley Anne. She will be sadly missed by her sister Zipper and her brother Gene, daughter Patricia Katharane Yakubosky (Tony), sons William Douglas Jr.(Christina), Kenneth Peirce(Carmen) and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
