It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, Rhéal Côté, after a lengthy battle with myelodysplastic syndrome (bone marrow cancer). Rhéal was an amazing and loyal son, brother, father, partner, neighbour and friend with a quick wit. Rhéal was loved and cherished by his children Ray (Liz), Jean (Suzanne) and Nadine (Shayne) and his granddaughter Isabelle; and he continued to be cherished by his former spouse Camilla and partner Colette Tremblay and her children Francois, Sylvie and Mélanie. Rhéal also leaves behind his siblings Rina (Morel Cyr), Enoil (Gisele), Ralph (Rita), Donald (Marie-Thérèse), Robert (Micheline) and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his younger brothers Fernand and Léonide (Marilyne) and his parents Jeanne Desjardins and Antoine Côté. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Résidence Cambridge and the amazing oncology/hematology team at Lakeshore General Hospital led by Dr. Kaedbey, in caring for our dad and providing us some precious additional time and memories with him. We welcome friends and family for a Visitation on Thursday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. or Friday, November 8 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Collins Clarke Funeral Home at 222 Highway 20, Pointe-Claire (exit 49 at Cartier). The Ceremony will be on Friday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca/en/donate.

To the entire Cote family .
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
Rheal was a wonderful neighbor and friend to The Fewtrell family and all who knew him.
In June of 2000 Rob & I moved in next door to Rheal.
Sydney had just turned 2, coincidentally on June 13th and I was pregnant with our second child Hayley. Myself coming from a big family, that weekend we had a big birthday party to celebrate our new home and Sydney’s birthday! I went into the house and came back out. Sydney was no where to be found (There was no fence at the time between our homes) as I started going into panic mode! There she was with her birthday twin on his back deck with a glass of water! Rheal yelled over. “She’s ok! She was thirsty!” Almost 20 years later with too many memories to share. We say goodbye to a man for us was family!

Thank you for sharing him with us.
