Bob was rare gentleman always ready to help anyone. I only have good memories for my co-worker at CN. He was well liked by everyone.

I want to extend my sincerest condolences to all his family.

Bob was a work colleague at CN for several years, plus we shared the same dentist in Beaconsfield. I have nothing but fond memories of Bob, he never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Still can't quite believe it. Bob was such a kind caring man. When we visited Montreal for the wedding between him and My Aunty Shirley they made us feel so welcome. Bob took myself and my husband out for a tour and was just great. They both came to our wedding Scotland and Bob made such a wonderful impression on other family members with his whit and humour. Bob made Shirley so very happy and everyone who met him just loved him he had a heart a gold and always had time for everyone he will be missed very very much missed bu everyone xxx

Sharing a drink with you one night and learning you were gone the next day is hard to process.  Thank you for sharing your passion and all the memorable moments on and off the ice. 

I am so saddened to hear of the loss of your best friend & beloved husband. You both have shared many wonderful moments together & I hope these memories will bring you some comfort. My thoughts are with all of you.

Up in Heaven’s Golden Rink…….The  Rink is ready in Heaven above,

I first met Bob when I joined the Pointe Claire Curling Club.  I was invited to the Guest Cup and there was Bob, seated at the Head Table resplendent in his Full Scottish regalia.  He instantly made me feel welcome  and represented the club in the most positive way possible.  He was someone truly larger than life.  He gave his time selflessly and made this world a better place.
I will miss him terribly.

My sincere condolences to you all on the loss of Bob. I worked with Bob for many years, in both IT and Audit. He was a pleasure to work with - knowledgeable, helpful and lots of fun! He spoke of you all with much  affection. Bob was one of the happiest retirees I knew- busy with so many interests. We met a few times since retirement (before COVID) and he was always so enthusiastic about life.

Our Como golf foursome won’t be the same without our friend Bob.  He would arrive in the parking lot  3 or 4 minutes before tee off counting on Alex to be ready to pick him up in his golf cart. When he arrived at the first tee he would greet us with a heartwarming  “Hello Brother “.  If he was struggling on a certain hole,  he would explain that   “Curling is my first sport”.  He was however proud of his rapidly diminishing handicap last year.  The best part of the day was enjoying a cold one with Bob at the 10th hole (or at the PCCC bar) while talking current affairs, reminiscing or discussing our good and bad shots. We’ll miss you Bob. Deepest sympathy to Shirley and family.

Bob was an outstanding leader and my best friend throughout high school.  We played four years or football and basketball together at West Ferris High and I spent way too much time at his parents (Robert Sr and Nora) who were like second parents to me.  Diane will remember me hanging about. Robert Sr arranged mine and Bob's first good summer job at the ONR
We were each other's best men at our weddings but we lost touch when he moved to Montreal although we emailed occasionally.  We talked about getting together at the Oakville left handed bonspiel but it never happened and I regret that.   My condolences to his family from my wife Mary Ann, who also knew Bob, and I for the loss of a good man - David Purdon

Learning of Bob's passing made me very sad. I thought of him as one of the kindest people I ever knew. He had a big heart and was a nice gentleman. My sympathies go out to his family and may he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob as a coworker. Our professional interactions were few, but I was immediately struck by his kind, cool way with people and easy going disposition. I also found out in the latter years that we shared the same dentist in Beaconsfield, QC. Gone too soon, too young, my friend. My condolences to your family, you will be missed. Rest in Peace .

Condolences to Bob's family, his friends and the PCCC community.  A very shocking departure.  He was a dedicated man, and a passionate volunteer for the game of curling.  I had the privilege to meet him through the ARCM and the Governor General's CC.

Bob seemed to get a second wind with retirement, curling in Scotland and much to do at Pointe Claire.. my sympathies to the family.. gone all too soon

My deepest sympathy to his family. I met Rob on the Strathcona Tour in 2009. He was a member of my team. He was such a great team player. It was a long journey but his wit and positive attitude made it an enjoyable experience. We met again this past summer in Moncton and were supposed to get together this past January at the Quebec International Curling Bonspiel. Such a great ambassador and a great  friend gone much too soon. “RIP”. 

Another good railroader has gone down the tracks for the last time. it was always fun curling with Bob. Tom Carroll.........

I asked Bob if he could mentor me in the Vice Presidents competition. He told me absolutely. We played only a few games together but he taught me so much in that short time. We became fast friends and he taught me about what to do when leading a game by 5. Thanks Bob for always being kind and strong. You made me laugh and smile and always made me made me feel good about myself. A true gentleman. I’ll miss you my friend. It was pleasure to have been a part of your life. I’ll  miss you ❤️❤️

To Bob Dods' Family,
We were  very sorry to hear that Bob has passed away.  We go a long way back with Bob at CN.  I worked with him in Implementation and Control when he first arrived in Montreal.  Joan goes even further back with him when they worked together on the Spare Board in Toronto's Macmillan Yard.  Our paths crossed many times as colleagues at CN in Montreal. Bob was a regular at  the World’s Lefthander’s curling Championship held in Oakville, ON every year. He was a joy to be around and you knew if you were playing Bob and his team, you were in for a good time. We will miss him. 

Bob was a backbone of fun, humor and smiles in our league. No matter the tight call, he kept things in perspective. The litmus test is how much he will be missed. Somewhere in softball heaven Bob will get another chance to throw the empties and get that can of corn.

Bob was a great friend of mine who I was lucky enough to meet through BMSP.  From the moment I met Bob he was kind and always had a smile to greet me and anyone else. He truly had a spirit of giving and kindness and shared this with everyone around him. He quickly became known as the Rookie of the Beer as he was always able to help organize a BBQ arrange to get beer if needed and wouldn't hesitate to help out in anyway he could. He went on to become President of the league, helped to start up our annual charity softball tournament and introduced me to the executive and curling. Because of Doddsy I am a better person today but a much sadder one as I have lost one of the nicest kindest people I have ever met. My condolences to all the family as your loss is much greater than ours and you have my deepest, heartfelt sympathies. 
I will miss you Doddsy but we will keep you in our memories for all the good times we shared together. Rest in peace my friend.
