She is survived by her sons Malcolm (Laura Glew), Pointe Claire QC, and Lorne (Jacqueline Glomski), London England, her grandchildren Sarah (Kevin Modlmayer), Buffalo, NY, and Eric (Catherine McBurney), Pointe Claire QC, and her great-grandchildren Zoe and Mia of Buffalo.
She was predeceased by her husband Stirling Whiteway. Ruth was born in Montreal West, May 17th 1924, moved to Dartmouth NS with her husband Stirling in the early 1950s, and moved back to Montreal in 2010.
The house in Dartmouth and the cottage in Goshen were central to their lives in Nova Scotia. Ruth was an avid seamstress, dressmaker, knitter and bridge player, and later became a prolific rug hooker. Her wonderfully creative rugs grace the floors of many friends and relatives, and will provide lasting memories of her skills and generosity.
We want to thank the staff at the Sunrise Residence Beaconsfield for their excellent care for Ruth during her final years.
A ceremony of remembrance will be organized for a later date.
