He leaves behind his loving wife Alamelu, his two children, Raghu and Govind (Sumitra), his three grandchildren Sandhya, Kiran and Arvin, his brother Gopal and sister Padma.
Born in Vizianagaram, India, on January 20, 1932, Srinivas did his studies in India prior to obtaining his Doctorate of Science in Mathematics at the Université de Paris, Sorbonne, in the early 1960s. Srinivas taught at the University of Maryland, USA prior to settling in Montreal, Canada and was a professor of mathematics at the Université de Montréal for over 30 years. His love of history, worldly travel and horse racing was known to all who knew him. His kind, caring, and ever-compassionate approach to life will be missed by many.
A private funeral service was held for family on Wednesday, February 9th.
