Alexis Nicole McGill, born April 21, 1984 in Philadelphia, PA was the only child of Pamela N. McGill. Mother and daughter had a special bond that spanned the years. A sense of trust that couldn’t be broken, a depth of love sometimes unspoken. The epitome of a dynamic duo.

During her childhood and teenage years, Alexis attended the Meredith Elementary School and the Philadelphia Creative and Performing Arts High School while simultaneously attending Freedom Theater of the Performing Arts.

Alexis was a multifaceted angel with exceptional talents. A transcendent dancer and choreographer who could blend elements of modern dance, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop. A charismatic actor and songstress who captivated audiences with her confidence and 3-octave voice range. Alexis was always “on-call” to perform at official city and state events or annual holiday functions. She was a triple-threat who was way ahead of her time.

Alexis was baptized in 1989 and spent her Christian upbringing in the Screen Temple C.O.W.I.H. Inc. and the Sanctuary Church of the Open Door where she developed a strong personal relationship with God. She enjoyed singing on various choirs and was a member of the Sunshine Band, Mime Ministry, Voices of Melody, Praise Dance Team, and Praise and Worship Teams.

In 2013, she became a recording artist on the Youngfella/Blessed by Him Music label where she wrote and co-produced several songs. Alexis joined Ecclesia Prayer Clinic Bi-Lingual Ministry in 2019 and served under the leadership of her aunt, Sr. Pastor Cynthia Screen-Sheared. Whatever her assignment was, she carried it out in excellence. She loved to praise the Lord and share her testimony about how God had blessed, changed, and saved her life.

Alexis worked for the Social Security Administration for 8 years assisting seniors, the disabled, and marginalized members of society. She was also an accomplished entrepreneur and personal stylist. She created Slay4life, a personal branding and styling company for men and women.

On Thursday, April 1st, God called our beloved Alexis home to be with our Lord and savior. She will be truly missed. She leaves behind to mourn: her mother Pamela N. McGill, partner Aisha Crawford, grandfather Rev. Leon Ross Sr., aunt Nancy Klepack, uncles Leonard Klepack and Clayton McGill, cousins Kali Coleman, Ayana Coleman, and a host of God mothers, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Been tryna find the words to say this one literally took the breathe out of me. Alexis and I grew up singing together at our childhood church Sanctuary Church of the Open Door in Philadelphia. She was always the same. Grateful that the Lord allowed us to reconnect and exchange numbers back in 2019. We’ve spent countless hours on the phone laughing , joking reminiscing and just talking about personal life matters. In her words I am not the one to judge but I definitely understand you. Back in January Lex FaceTimed me when was in Target we laughed and laughed and laughed I told her I was coming to Florida and she was Soo excited not knowing that was going to be my last time seeing her. I love her and am going to miss those 2am calls let’s pray 😂😂 and I would say girl I’m sleep smh but that was her. My thoughts and prayers are with Momma Pam I love you sooo much. My prayers are with you in the days to come.

My Godchild. The little girl with a big alto voice. Memories of us singing together. Memories of her walking in my heels as a toddler. More recent memories of our vivid open talks. She was bold and not shy about what she wanted. Simply put, I loved her and miss her dearly. Rest in Heaven sweetie.

The star of Meredith in the late 90's. What a powerful voice. May she rest in peace and power.

I will always remember the different stories you shared with me about your life, you were the greatest story teller. The dramatics, facial expressions it was like being at a one woman play!

I will miss the laughs we shared and the time we spent!
